Letter to the Voters from Judge Caperton

JUDGE MICHAEL O. CAPERTON
Candidate for Court of Appeals
3rd Appellate Dist., Div. 1

Dear Friend,

I am a candidate for the 3rd District Appellate seat formerly held by Judge R.W. Dyche, III. I am sending this letter to introduce myself, provide background and contact information, and hopefully gain your vote and influence in my campaign for appellate judge.

I have been a district judge over 13 years and heard more than 100,000 cases. The voters of my district have shown their confidence in my judicial ability by electing me for four terms! As appellate judge, I would review trial court decisions. My experience as a trial court judge better enables me to review trial court decisions as an appellate judge. It is difficult to review what one hasn’t done, i.e. be an appellate judge without first sitting as a trial court judge. I am a trial court judge and the only candidate that has judicial experience.

I graduated from Transylvania University in 1977; attended Cumberland College, obtained a teaching certificate and taught biology; graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1987 with a Juris Doctorate. A single parent, I live in London, KY, with my two daughters, ages 13 and 15.

This November 6 you will elect your new judge for the Court of Appeals. It's a non-partisan ballot, everyone votes. I would appreciate your comments, concerns and suggestions. I hope to be able to contact and speak with you, however, if you wish to contact me try any of the following: 606-682-6954, 877-1831(fax), website www.capertonforjudge.com.

I urge you to speak to everyone you can and influence them to vote Caperton for Court of Appeals. Thank you.

Yours Truly,

Judge Michael O. Caperton
District Judge 27th Dist., Div. II
